Long Story Short... *Micorpost*

Okay, so remember how I said I already had a head for my doll? Lies. The head I bought was a Dollfie Plus Head, not a DD head. Arrrgh! I figured this out a while ago (a week maybe after my last post? Maybe more?) but I didn't feel like posting about it until now. The dollfie dream is huge. Two feet maybe, yo. She's going to be huge. Around 40-60 centimeters, according to my friends (friends?) down at the dollfie dreams forum... Which can be found here, if you've never been there before. Everyone's really nice!
So now I have some good news to tell you! My Dollfie Dream girl is 3/9 done. That means I have six more parts to buy: head, feet, arms, shins, thighs and waist. I'm assuming you also don't know which ones are missing from that list, so I'll also have to list the ones I have now, too. I bought basic hands, a size M bust, and an internal frame for the torso. My next priority is either the waist or the arms as well as the head and a can of ZM finishing spray. I also want doll clothes. Doll clothes will be a whole nother post, man. And a long one for once.

  1. Hey there, i'm very sorry to hear of your experience it sounds like you were in for a big surprise. Well also keep in mind that buying the parts separately also costs much more. It would probably be much easier and affordable for you to invest in a volks standard model girl (such as mayu, rena, or yukino for example.) 'Or a future pre-order girl (like the recent hatsune miku, which you can payoff anytime you want within a year, so you could even pay as low as 50 dollars a month so to speak.) and those tend to be some of the better deals. As they come with a little slip , a starter wig, eyes and faceup. And those are all things you can change later on and you can always change the faceup some time later. But at least you start off with most of what you need to get going and the wait wouldn't be as long or as agonizing to get to where you want to go. You can find second hand (used ) standard model girls for sale across ebay, den of angels, SG cafe, castaways and various other doll forums. You can also, just get a pre-faceuped head. Or a head you plan to faceup, and then search for the older, cheaper DD2 body. But you would have a much better time just working with a standard model as it comes with everything you need to get started a little pricey but worth it. I hope this helps you and i'm so sorry to hear about this as your first experience with these dolls. You must have been extremely confused. And if you ever need help : D feel free to contact me! I know a lot about these dolls. Also if DD is too big, perhaps try MDD or a 1/6 azone girl (and they already have sticker eyes and hair rooted in, much cheaper to maintain as well)

  2. But I wish you best of luck in making your own custom girl, I think that is very ambitious of you and great as you can be a little more creative with it. And you know another thing if you did invest in a standard model those parts wouldn't go to waste per say as you can keep those as spare parts encase something happens to your first doll OR you can always keep those spare parts around for creating your 2nd doll. Sometimes its good to get a pre-put together one for your first so you can see how everything comes together and works...and then you will expiriment with it and see if the size / doll is right for you and if it isn't, you can always sell her after. Then when your making your 2nd doll by yourself it all comes together much nicer as you had experience with the first and know more about what it is that you want, or what size / style of doll you like. As far as doll clothes, Alice collections sells some wonderful outfits, ranging from tops and skits, to lolita dresses. There are some great quality clothing and good deals on there, hey there is even a dress on there for 12.00!

http://www.acbjd.com/clothes-c-3.html << this is where all the clothes are at. You can also join in on a group order to save cost on shipping if you plan to buy multiple items. I recommend buying in bulk so that the shipping price is worth the cost of the clothing and then that way when your girl is finished you already have a bunch of stuff for her to try on, and if you don't like it, you can always sell them.

  3. Thanks for letting me know! Also, I do understand what you mean by that, but I have trouble saving up a huge amount of money so I find it easier to split it up. Maybe my 2nd doll would be a standard model, but I don't know yet. I just find my method easier, as I really DO have trouble saving up lots of money :O
